Artist Biography
In 2002 I graduated from the Alberta College of Art, I obtained my BFA and the confidence to create
for the rest of my life. I was hired by Canadian artist Bill Gardner as a carpenter at Theater Calgary constructing theater
sets. It was here where I learned about the roots of Theater and the collaboration of creative thinking (chaos). In order
for the show to go on artists(fabricators, designers, actors and actresses) must collaborate and work together. Learning how
to be creative as a team was very important to me. It is a quality that you cannot develop alone with a canvas. After a season
at Theater Calgary I was offered a job at F&D Scene Changes where I eventually became Assistant Head of Automation( special
effects). Working on large multi million dollar projects for clients such as Disney, Cirque du Soleil, Broadway designer Eugene
Lee (Wicked), Lexus, Toyota, CTG and many other clients. I became a scenic Carpenter, and then later had the opportunity to
be trained as a Welder. After I had learned the trade became a Scenic Welder(sculptor) obtaining about 3000 hrs of welding
steel and Aluminum with a mig set up. Being in the Automation department I worked with Hydraulics, pneumatics, specialized
water systems, winch systems, electrics and machining. I have a large library of experience which allows me to collaborate
with other artisans and designers in the Future.
From 2007-2009 I spent most of my time in New York City expanding my artistict horizons.
I then moved back to Saskatoon where I have a full time studio practice. I am currently represented by Agora Gallery
and A Jain Marunouchi Gallery in New York City. I will be Showing at the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine arts in
Las Vegas as well with Vivid Arts in Italy . I will be showing at all four venuse in the month of May 2011.

Artist Statement
As an artist and visual consumer, I am forced to adapt to the ever-changing social, environmental and political climate
and my work demonstrates that tension. Using deconstructionist methods, I represent the complex with the elemental, so that
the most complex forms are made to be simple, yet are still able to combine to produce a balance, coherent vision. I use the
technique to draw attention to and express ideas about human involvment with the natuarl environment, and other global issues.
Nature and art are always to be interpreted and, like much of life, my work is concerned with discovery and presents connections
which it is up to the viewer to explore and come to understand. Despite the control, geometry and balance of my work, the
intent is to allow for complete viewer interpretation.
